Slumdog Millionaire
This is the most AMAZING movie I have ever seen. Simply mind-blowing from start to finish.
Since I subscribe to the skins podcast I already knew that Dev Patel was in Bombay filming a movie. Six months later I happen to catch the trailer while channel surfing and ended up jumping up and down like a little girl, I eagerly waited to see the movie, I'm the type that rarely gets worked up about seeing a movie, but not in this case. I got hooked in from the very second it played, my eyes wouldn't leave the screen not for a minute, I actually felt like applauding at the end. This movie is being called the little movie that could, its the movie to beat at the Oscars, and has already won a lot a awards. If you have to watch one movie this year its Slumdog Millionaire, no exaggerating.
I rate this 10/10

Hana Kimi
The drama focuses on Mizuki Ashiya, a Japanese girl who lives in California. One day an incident occurs involving herself and a high jumper she idolizes, causes him to lose his ability to jump. Unable to bear the guilt of causing his smile to fade, Mizuki decides to follow him to Japan and find a way to make him jump again. To make this possible must attend the same school as Sano. The tricky part is that the school he attends to is an all boys' school, so in order for her plan to work she cuts her hair and disguises herself as a male. She must live in the dorms without being found out until she completes her plan to get him to jump again.
I think this drama helped make versatile but unknown actors recognizable. Horikita Maki even though she is very talented was too diminutive, I thought her build and the fact she’s too pretty would raise some questions challenging her ability to even be considered a guy difficult, but she did well in the role nonetheless further along the series Mizuki lets her guard down a bit in regards to conceal her identity leaving Sano who found out early on, to cover for her. The competiveness between the Dorn heads is sort of a focus point in the series. I think the goal in this drama was to be as entertaining as possible, in which they succeeded. Especially in casting Ikuta Toma as Nakatsu, his monologues stole every scene he was in. The students of Osaka High are definitely fan favourites.
My rating 9.3/10

Special A
I grew to love the character traits of the seven SA members, I was interested in their bond with each other, and also how they appeared to others. But I found it hard to see their characters as relatable. It started off slow in the beginning of the episode, but hooked me in with Kei feelings toward an oblivious Hikari almost to the point when I wanted to scream in frustration at her cluelessness. But I have to say I enjoyed the flashbacks of the SA members' childhood,it gave me more of a look into their pasts. Overall this anime was enjoyable and funny, but I found it more of a filler than anything else.
My rating 8.1 /10
